Our 2009 Day of Service took place at the Philadelphia Veterans Comfort House. The “Comfort House” provides a home away from home for patients while they undergo outpatient treatment for cancer and heart-related issues at area facilities, primarily the VA hospital. As in past years, the resources of INTECH’s staff were used to provide some much needed care and repairs to a facility that provides respite to the community at large, this time our veterans.
Repairs and improvements included: building a deck cover for back patio, repairs to back patio, installation of porch rails on upper and lower porches at the front of the house, painting interior spaces, caulking, and delivery and assembly of pool tables for residents to use during their stay.
