The Courtyard Philadelphia South is the first hotel in The Navy Yard - a vibrant, mixed-use development in South Philadelphia. The five-story hotel offers 172 rooms, including eight suites, and 1,800 SF of meeting space as well as a variety of dining options including both indoor and alfresco dining. Although unusual for a Courtyard Marriott, the building’s façade reflects the Navy Yard’s focus on “high tech”, notable architecture. The building itself is a steel stud-framed bearing wall structural system over a steel podium. The exterior wall is a combination of a rain-screen aluminum panels and a field applied porcelain tile on a back-up exterior wall system. Environmentally conscious landscaping will compliment the LEED Certified building. The project was delivered through a Design/Build methodology.
