Philadelphia University has implemented an innovative curriculum to prepare students for design-related careers by creating the Kanbar College of Design, Engineering and Commerce, housed in this new four-story studio and classroom building. A two-story, daylit forum space serves as a central meeting space, and project team areas are reconfigurable to serve a multi-disciplinary approach. Significant infrastructure improvements were made to the site, located in the heart of the University campus. The building incorporates many sustainable design principles, including an innovative perforated aluminum sun shading device that gives the building its distinctive look. The project has achieved LEED Gold Certification.
